Clarification, for those in/from the US who are wondering about this
correlation between "liberal" and the concept of "ownership" (as I
was when I first moved to Europe -- so I'm assuming there might be at
least a few people puzzled by this... apologies to those who already
know this): "Liberal" outside of the US doesn't mean the same thing
as it does in the US. A person with a "liberal" viewpoint in, say,
Europe, means someone who believes that free-market and private
ownership can solve most (if not all) problems, and less government
is good government. By contrast, in America, its the conservatives,
and the Libertarian Party, that espouses this.
No comment from me on if the viewpoint is right or wrong -- just
wanted to explain this for anyone who might be confused. I know it
threw me for a loop when I first started reading European news and
seeing the term used in an entirely different way than what I was
used to in the USA.
