hi everyone -

for those who might be interested, there's a short well-done
screencast about some free software called fireant -- for receiving
web video via rss feeds. see http://unmediated.org/
(or http://antisnottv.net/files/fireant_screencast.mov)

if the organization you're connected with is not yet creating a
video show of some kind, you might start thinking about doing that.
even something very simple (i.e. 5 minutes once a week) can propel
your organization forward.

at some point some mainstream reporters are going to get curious
what's contained in the videos your organization is producing. they
could ignore you for 3 months or 6 months, but they might start
getting uncomfortable ignoring you for more than a year.

by seizing the opportunities provided by new communications
technologies, you're practicing what you preach.

it might seem overwhelming to take on this new work with all the
other work you're doing. look for a volunteer to spearhead this so
that you have very little extra work on behalf of organizational
staff.
