The relevance to Digital Divide discussion is not technical as much as
it is a 'use of technology' issue, and reflects the reality around the
world. Political control and governmental control could be seen as
separate issues, but a Free Press is not separate from either. When
enabling people to use technology, are we educating them about these
issues as well? If not, shouldn't we be?Or do we hope that they don't
make the same mistakes that we make, and continue to make? I don't know,
but I think it's worth kicking around a bit because I'm pretty sure
nobody else knows either.
