The United Nations Volunteers program has announced its
10 Outstanding Online Volunteers for 2005. These 10 people
were chosen for the outstanding volunteer contributions
they have provided to organizations serving the developing
world, via http://www.onlinevolunteering.org

If you would like to see the very real difference online
volunteers can make, visit UNV's online volunteering site and
click on the link to the announcement about the top OVs.

Although this isn't related to bridging the Digital Divide, it is at least a good example of what could happen if more civil society organizations in the developing world had more and better access to computers and the Internet.
