Hi all, Being in the engineering information services in an academic environment, I am always keen on learning, developing and applying new modes of information delivery to our faculty and students at Drexel University. I have created a blog for them with this in mind. Since it is freely available, resources included within the blog can be used by everyone who needs engineering/scientific information all over the world. There are some databases/resources linked which are available to only Drexel faculty and students. However, having an awareness of a resource can help someone to recommend and get access to that resource from corresponding institution/organization or corporation. Here is the information on my blog: Engineering Resources Blog <http://englibrary.blogspot.com> This is an informative blog that lists new print and electronic resources available from the Drexel University Libraries. It will also include new and useful web resources on engineering information retrieval. There are many general resources available on this blog that can be accessed by anyone, anywhere in the world.
Engineering Resources <http://englibrary.blogspot.com/> For example. there are several items in this blog that informs users that many scintific journals such as Nature, provide RSS feeds of their journal articles. It also has a link to RSS feeds from Springer journals, Engineering Village2 (One can get RSS feeds of search queries used in this database) and Hubmed (RSS feeds of search queries in Pubmed). The academic community worldwide should find this very useful. Blog URL in DigitalDivide http://www.digitaldivide.net/blog/jaybhatt/view?PostID=5318 I have also created a new community called 'Information Intiatives in India' http://www.digitaldivide.net/community/InformationIndia This community will bring out news on new and existing projects conducted worldwide to help develop, exploit and use any technologies for the educational and economic upliftment in both urban and rural areas of India. This community will also use of blogs, internet sites and methods of teaching information literacy skills to various communities in India. Any suggestions/recommendations/feedback is always welcome. I believe that global collaboration among ourselves can play a vital role in the flow of information worldwide.
