I'd look at some of the development NGOs, like Oxfam. Other good possibilities are the Peace Corps and the UN Development Organization. John

I feel frustrated that, because of my web development background perhaps, I am surrounded with ideas about wikis and photoblogs, etc., but I know nothings about what it takes to, say, get some solar panels or a water purifier up and running. Any help?
