hi DDN people -
a company that i've had positive dealings with in the past,
http://fastermac.net, has reduced the price of their dial-up
internet service to $5/month -- when purchased 12 months at a time.
it's useful to keep in mind that this dial-up internet can be shared
with multiple computers using the internet sharing in the Sharing
system preference of Mac OS X. the other computers sharing this
internet connection would typically do so via an ethernet hub.
although the people who run fastermac.net are mac specialists, i
can't think of a good reason why windows users can't use this
service, too.
in the past year i've set up fastermac.net accounts for various
clients and friends, on mac os 9 and mac os x computers. the
service has worked well for the people i know who have been using
it.
