Dear Andy, Sorry about the lack of a link to something substantive by John. I should have stated clearly that I was sharing some reflections that emerged from very informal conversations. As far as I know, John has only posted one mention of this line of research - to the ARNOVA (Association for Research on Nonprofit and Voluntary Action) email distribution list. His comments were embedded in the context of a discussion of a project at University of Michigan's School of Information <http://katrinahousing.net>. Fortunately, John is a member of the DDN list, so he can say more about his ideas to this group, if he wishes.
