Hi Robert and everyone, We expect at least 50, but hopefully over 100 young people to attend WSIS 2, some representing their governments, and many others working with local and global NGOs and companies.
You can browse the list of the 60+ people who are planning to attend, read and post blog entries and learn more at our event page for WSIS 2: http://events.takingitglobal.org/wsistunis If you want to get a sense for how young people were involved and active at WSIS Phase One in Geneva, check out the 100+ blog entries, photos, and reviews: http://events.takingitglobal.org/wsis If you decide that you want to attend and need help with accreditation, do let Robert or I know - as both of our organizations are officially accredited and can register participants. P.S. In terms of travel deals, British Airways has a flight from London for around 200 US roundtrip (from Gatwick to Tunis, 14 to 21 of November), so if you can get to London cheaply, it's not too expensive from there. Cheers, (and happy Canadian thanksgiving to all the other Canadians on the list...) -- Michael Michael Furdyk Co-founder & Director of Technology, TakingITGlobal http://www.takingitglobal.org/ -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Robert Guerra Sent: Saturday, October 08, 2005 11:24 AM To: The Digital Divide Network discussion group Subject: [DDN] WSIS / Tunisia - Nov 13-19 - Who's going A while back I sent a note to this another other related lists about the upcoming WSIS being held in Tunisia. It definitely is not your "average" conference. Accreditation and registration is far more complex than people may be used to. It is best, not to leave things to the end - as such, you might find you can't even get into venue! Being a veteran of the "WSIS process" , i'd be more than happy to help answer any questions. Specifically, inquiries people might have in regards to accreditation and logistical arrangements. In the meantime, below are some references that might be of help regards Robert -- Robert Guerra <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Director, Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility (CPSR) WSIS Civil Society Bureau, Focal Point for North America & Europe Tel +1 416 893 0377 Fax +1 416 893 0374 http://www.worldsummit2005.org http://www.privaterra.org/activities/wsis/blog/ http://wsis.civiblog.org http://www.wsis.org http://www.smsitunis2005.org/plateforme/home.htm _______________________________________________ DIGITALDIVIDE mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.edc.org/mailman/listinfo/digitaldivide To unsubscribe, send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word UNSUBSCRIBE in the body of the message. _______________________________________________ DIGITALDIVIDE mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.edc.org/mailman/listinfo/digitaldivide To unsubscribe, send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word UNSUBSCRIBE in the body of the message.
