Thanks for posting this link, which I will distribute to lists I am on in the UK.

With the many communities here in the UK with links to the region there has been a lot of news coverage, but as yet I have heard anything about an online database similar to those set up in response to the Tsunami and Katrina disasters.

Whilst I appreciate that conditions in the area must make this a low priority at the moment, is there any thought about how such a system might be implemented - if appropriate.

Or has ongoing discussion on this list led to the formation of a 'disasters relief ICT team' that can quickly put something in place?
