Dear DDNers, as some of you may know, I am moving to Spain by the end of September. I will live in Barcelona and will most probably (unless something goes really wrong :) be taking a PhD in Information Society, in the UOC (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya - Open University of Catalunya).
Thus, I would like to ask you for any contacts or projects that you think would be interested getting in touch with, or if there's anybody around here that currently work somewhere around this area. I will keep a distance work contract with the Lab I currently work in Brazil, but I am interested in finding local activities in Spain as well, in some point of the future. I have worked in a Digital Inclusion program for the last 5 years, called Acessa São Paulo (www.acessa.sp.gov.br), which is one of the biggest Digital Inclusions governmental programs of Latin America, with more then 380 telecenters and 700 thousand registered users. I worked there through the School of the Future (www.futuro.usp.br), a interdisciplinary laboratory that investigates the impact of the new communications technologies on learning at all educational levels, inside Lidec, a part of School of the Future that focus in Digital Inclusion and Community Learning. For the last 5 years, I have contributed in the elaboration of online and offline strategies to promote local appropriation of technology and community development. I am graduated in Social Communications and I now co-coordinate the community and online content of the lab work, supervising the Web Portal, the mailing lists and forum team and some other projects connected to local appropriation. In Lidec, we work with Open Source Software and Online Collaborative Learning concepts.
