Dear DDNers,

as some of you may know, I am moving to Spain by the end of September. I
will live in Barcelona and will most probably (unless something goes really
wrong :) be taking a PhD in Information Society, in the UOC (Universitat
Oberta de Catalunya - Open University of Catalunya).

Thus, I would like to ask you for any contacts or projects that you think
would be interested getting in touch with, or if there's anybody around here
that currently work somewhere around this area. I will keep a distance work
contract with the Lab I currently work in Brazil, but I am interested in
finding local activities in Spain as well, in some point of the future.

I have worked in a Digital Inclusion program for the last 5 years, called
Acessa São Paulo (www.acessa.sp.gov.br), which is one of the biggest Digital
Inclusions governmental programs of Latin America, with more then 380
telecenters and 700 thousand registered users. I worked there through the
School of the Future (www.futuro.usp.br), a interdisciplinary laboratory
that investigates the impact of the new communications technologies on
learning at all educational levels, inside Lidec, a part of School of the
Future that focus in Digital Inclusion and Community Learning.

For the last 5 years, I have contributed in the elaboration of online and
offline strategies to promote local appropriation of technology and
community development. I am graduated in Social Communications and I now
co-coordinate the community and online content of the lab work, supervising
the Web Portal, the mailing lists and forum team and some other projects
connected to local appropriation. In Lidec, we work with Open Source
Software and Online Collaborative Learning concepts.

If you have any interest to know more about my experience, Lidec or Acessa
São Paulo, I can send you a more complete cv.

I appreciate any suggestions or ideas you can provide. :)

Thank you,

Dani Matielo
