Terve (means hi! in Finnish)!

I coordinate a global virtual school for sustainable development called
ENO-Environment Online. There are 300 schools in 90 countries who collect
information locally and share it on the ENO website. We will start the
schoolyear with a special activity, tree planting. This is a public event so we
welcome all the schools/children and youth groups and/or individual to join us.
This will take place 21st of September, also known as an international day for
peace. This year we have a special blog for the event. Take a look:

As I noticed Ed (from iEARN) in this list I have to say also that ENO Programme
is one of iEARN projects!(www.iearn.org)

I would be HAPPY if you could share the invitation below with your friends and
networks.

warm regards,

- Plant A Tree For The Environment And Peace -

The ENO Programme invites you to an exciting event. A new school year will be
opened 21st of September 2006 in a special way. We will plant trees at midday,
in every corner of the world. The first trees will be planted at midday in
Oceania. Following the Sun, new trees will be put to earth in Asia, Europe and
Africa . Finally this chain of trees will reach Americas . This event has
become a success. Last year over 200 schools in 60 countries planted thousands
of trees during the day.

Tree planting is important for us. Firstly, it reminds us of the nature and the
importance of environmental protection. Secondly, it is a symbol for the
international co-operation. And, above all, 21 st of September is known as the
international day for peace. Children and youth bring the message of peace.

This is a public event. We invite all the schools/clubs or individual
children/young people to join our activity. Make a concrete action for
environment.

How to get involved? Af first register your participation, by 18th of September
2006. Find instructions, more information and material for the event in our
blog. After the event please submit information about your event to ENO Tree
Database so we can enjoy your contribution and company.

Share this event with your school and community. Sing our tree planting songs,
dance and celebrate the day. Welcome to build a more sustainable future with
us!

This activity is connected with UNEP's tree planting activities . ENO and UNEP
signed a Memorandum of Understanding in February 2005. ENO Tree Planting Day is
also one of the highlights of the International Day For Peace, in co-operation
with UN.
