The status of DIP 1005 [1] has been set to "Postponed". It was determined that adequate experience with the self-important lookup idiom is needed before a final decision can be made.

Sebastian's revival of the "In-place Struct Initialization" DIP [2] is still in Draft Review for anyone who is interested.

Timon Gehr has submitted his DIP [3] for "Static foreach". Many of us have heard about the implementation he put together at DConf. This DIP will make it official. I haven't given it a thorough going over yet, but it looks pretty solid. I invite you all to come and participate in the Draft Review. I know there's some eagerness to get this one going, so the more people participate the sooner we can move it.

Zach's DIP [4], "Improve Contract Visibility" is almost ready to go. I intend to merge it as DIP 1009 and launch the Preliminary Review tomorrow. Last chance for Draft Review feedback.

If you do decide to participate in any Draft Reviews, I remind you to refer to the "Draft Review" details under "Review Process" in the README if you haven't yet seen my updates. The goal of the Draft Review is "for the DIP to achieve a state that minimizes the number of review rounds in the next stage." No debates or discussions, just plugging obvious holes and weaknesses. Deep dives are for the Preliminary Review stage.
