For D1 1.073,

  import std.stdio; void main() { writefln("hello world"); }

generates an executable sized 117,276.

For D2 2.058,

  import std.stdio; void main() { writeln("hello world"); }

generates an executable sized 146,972.

All on Windows compiled with -O -release -inline.

I think these sizes are reasonable, especially considering all that the runtime
library is expected to do (threads, gc, static construction, etc.).
