Libraries for Model Loading

[Ruby The Roobster via Digitalmars-d-learn]

Is there a good package available that can load models, Wavefront 
.obj files in particular?  I tried to use the existing bindings 
to old versions of Assimp, but I could not get Assimp itself to 
build on my machine.
