IMHO it's just marketing.

Do you wanna still rise that 0.628% share? 

If yes:

1) Use D
2) Help into other projects and do not create one-man projects
3) Hope that the "big" projects merge into few useful ones well 
supported (like phobos and tango in D2)(maybe compilers should do it 
too?).
