It won't be the fastest kid on the block, but I highly recommend grabbing a Thinkpad from before Lenovo decided to viciously crater the entire brand with "modern" crap. IIRC, the T420 and its contemporaries were the last ones to have a good keyboard; T430 and onward are chiclet garbage.
