As the instructions say, from the "Install Mac OS X Mountain Lion.app" bundle. This bundle is downloaded from the Mac App Store. For Mavericks it's located in "Install OS X Mavericks.app/Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg". If you download it form the app store it's will be placed in /Applications.
BTW you should only do this on a Mac. Technically it's possible to do on another platform.
