Not really, other than ASAP.
What about bug fixes during the 2.068-2.069 period; are these deprioritized in favor of the translation?
That's right. Trying to fix bugs while translating doesn't work very well. The idea is to get a 2.068 workalike to use as a baseline. Regressions can, of course, still be pushed to the 2.068 line.
That said, one can still post PR's for fixes. No reason to stop doing that.
