For me, a module presents the opportunity to group objects into a larger working unit.

But since D does not respect the encapsulation of objects, one has to revert to your solution, or mine (which is, if you're solution to a problem requires the use of classes, then go use a progamming language that respects the encapsulation boundary of classes).
