With all due respect, I don't think Go's designers are expert language
designers. (Let me haste to add that I don't consider myself a language
designer, and much less an expert one.)
Back to my hackneyed experience at Boeing designing airplanes - even Boeing did
not rely on experts not making mistakes. The design process involved independent
groups reviewing the designs, and nobody's design was taken for granted.
Everything had to be justified with facts, never "trust me, I'm an expert."
