Breaking existing code has been going on for years now. It needs to stop.

So let's just modify the purity semantics without even mentioning the change
before? Or did I just totally miss the discussion on that?

I didn't change the semantics, I implemented them :-(

dmd was totally ignoring purity checks for some constructs.
