Hi Rich, As of late, I have not been using any digital modes, other than the SCAMP mode and occasionally some MFSK16. A while back I was experimenting mostly with Olivia for a short time. I do monitor the bands a fair amount since I am frequently in my home office here on the farm. Although I do not personally care for RTTY and certain other digital modes, I do not disparage what other hams like to use for digital.
Right now the hot topics in digital are the BW issue, Winlink 2000 and SCAMP since they are what is on the minds of those who post and they will likely also have the most effects on us in the near term. In the future, I expect we will see more modes related to mixed DRM type voice/data, maybe some improved peer to peer data transfer programs, etc. There will likely be a few diehards that will still use the older digital modes like RTTY, especially for contesting, just like there are some hams who still use DSB AM in the voice portion of the bands. If you want to see a particular thing discussed on a general group of this type, may I suggest you bring up the topic that interests you. Maybe others will be interested as well. No guarantees of course:) 73, Rick, KV9U -----Original Message----- From: swl0720 [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, April 14, 2005 4:11 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [digitalradio] DIGIMODES Any one using the other digimodes these days?
