Thank you!!!  It works now after using Hyper Terminal.
 

The lights that you mentioned light up to suggest low
power but the TNC and computer are at least talking to
each other.

Will I have to use Hper Terminal again when I use the
Com 1 for radio control with my 706?  I won't be using
Packet on that radio.
