W4JSI, Joe , In Athens, AL with VE5TLW , Terry, and VE5MU , John, both in Regina, Saskatchewan established comminications on
3584.5  about 2:30Z. stations are about 2200km or 1200 miles apart. Many thanks to both Joe and Terry for participating

Under noisy  conditions , contact was made initially on Contestia at 500hz/ 8 tones. copy was very rough. Then moved to 32/1000 and
communications improved.

The largest improvement came with moving to 32 tones/1000hz Olivia, with all stations enjoying 100% copy on very weak signals.

Gear at W4JSI was a FT-990 , VE5TLW, TS-2000. and VE5MU , TS-480   all using MixW.

Olivia would be the mode of choice under these conditions.

Other experments between VE5TLW and VE5MU came to the conclusion that 4tones/1000hz  Contestia would be the fastest practical speed on HF.
this mode setting would produce just over 15 characters per second.

This should be tested over a longer distance since both stations are in the same city.

I'm up for more testing , especially on the lower bands.
