Top Band Olivia report from KB1CJ near Boston, 0200-0300Z, 12/10/2005 (Friday evening local time):
Copied KN4LF on 1806.5 at S/N 8 to 10, working K0OG and KC0FCP (did not copy the 0-area stations). Tried responding to KN4LF's CQ, but no luck. Heard W3NF (S/N 21 db) work KC0FCP and N7DC on 1807.5. No luck with calls to W3NF. Called and worked N7DC (S/N 9 db during QSO, but heard him peak up around 17 db at times during other QSO's). Got partial copy on K9PS working N7DC, even though I could barely hear his signal by ear or see it on the waterfall. I'm running 100 Watts into a short sloping, inverted L, so not a lot of firepower on the top band. Great to be able to use a weak sig mode! 73, Joe, KB1CJ ------------------------ Yahoo!
