I wonder if the logging program vendors might be able to, as a group, offer a gentle nudge here. For example, a band plan file (in XML, of course, hi hi) could advise the program to alert the user about domestic calling in the 160m DX window, or RTTY mode on 14.070. Even better if we can get the contests to publish their own plan files...some of the do this already (QRP contests, FISTS events, etc.).
