I'm thinking of starting a digital net on 30m. The purposes include
jump-starting the 30m band and passing traffic. I'm surprised 30m is
so empty, even when WWV is S9+ at 10 MHz. I thought that 30m spends
more hours per day open than any other band. I think digital modes
are a great way to pass traffic, yet there don't seem to be very many
digital nets out there, traffic nets or otherwise. The low traffic
volume on 30m does have an up side - less QRM from other stations.

I'd like to make the net similar to the Northern Virginia Traffic
Net. There will be traffic handling and comments. I'd also like to
have the net meet daily, though not necessarily at the same time each
day of the week. I'm thinking of having the net in the early evening
on weekdays and during the day on weekends.

What do you think? Would you be interested in being net control? I
can't be net control every day, because I will be busy on some days,
and I am already responsible for being net control of another net I
started 3 evenings per week.

SIDE NOTE: I invite those of you in the Midwest to check into the
VHF/UHF SSB net I started recently. It's a ragchew net called the
Missing You Like Candy Net. The net meets on Tuesdays at 8PM on
432.110 MHz, Fridays at 8PM on 144.190 MHz, and Saturdays at 6PM on
50.140 MHz.
