Dave correct me if I'm wrong.
Your purpose in life is 2 things (as I read your post).

1. to see that all software can tell if a frequency is already in use.

2. that the auto stations have their own sub-band.

Having said that, if you get your way with number 2 you don't really
need number 1. (If they are in their sub-band)

QOTD (question of the day)

If there was a sub-band just for the auto stations why would
anyone go in there ? Knowing that they will get QRM'ed.
As it is now you *may* get QRM'ed.
