Hi Doc,

I have and use my FT-890AT for ALE, it fails the SPLIT VFO test
(QS/S) but otherwise is a fine radio for ALE in single channel
operation and can be pressed into use for multi-channel within
reason, you would not want to use it 24/7 and tax those relays. As
far as TXCO is concerned, frequency stability to that level is not a
real requirement.

Just about any HF SSB radio that is CAT capable and supported can be
pressed into service for multi-channel ALE scanning.

Just about any HF SSB radio (CAT is not required) can be used for
single channel ALE use. I even use my venerable TS-930 for single
channel ALE, an PIEXX board and it would be good for multi-channel as
the SPLIT VFO requirement is supported.
