I have been planning to put up a Force 12 C3SS beam
that I purchased used over a year ago. It is supposed
to be excellent on 20/15/10/6M and may be tuned on
12/17M
Is there gathered consensus that a log periodic would
be a more versatile antenna for WARC and ALE apps,
though perhaps sacrificing some band-specific gain on
10/15/20M?
What about the difference in size? At least here in
FL wind load is important and everywhere the cost of
a larger rotator to handle a larger beam can be
prohibitive.
The Tennadyne T6 has a 12' boom, weighs 37lbs, presents
6.2sqft of wind resistance, and has a 20' turning radius.
The Force 12 C3SS has a 12' boom, weighs 27lbs, presents
4.4sq ft of wind resistance, and has a 13.6' turning radius.
The Tennadyne T8 has a 18' boom, 58lbs, 8sqft wind
esistance, and a 20.9' turning radius, the T10 has
a 24' boom, 69lbs, 10.1sqft wind resistance, and a
22' turning radius. They also offer larger models.
WDYT?
