Give me a break!

I have recently seen other groups form as "splinter groups" of main
groups before.  Contrary to your opinion below, competing support groups
with the same or similar purpose don't help users;  they instead divide
the expertise and knowledge.  I'm not all that happy with one Yahoo!
group I belong to, but splitting it isn't the answer, in my opinion. 
Usually, such splinter groups are ego-driven, and thankfully most don't
last long.
