I'd guess two reasons:

1. 20 meters has better DX propagation.
2. A lot of hams have 20 meter beams which makes #1 even more 
effective. Few have 30 meter beams.

Not taking anything away from 30, it's a great band for what it can 
do, but 20 is usually more productive.
