Thank you for the additional information.

Yes, I think Bonnie's interest stems from ALE, which is a calling 
protocol usually combined with SSB, and is intended for weak-signal 
operation.  As I understand it, semi-automatic operation is limited to 
those regions.  I don't want to talk about Pactor, hihi.
