Hello Andy,

Just an information about Multipsk or Mixw...and Commander.
The global control may be summarized according to the following diagram:
MULTIPSK (DDE TX)-->(DDE RX) COMMANDER-->COM-->"CAT SYSTEM"-->TRANSCEIVER
MULTIPSK (DDE RX)<--(DDE TX) COMMANDER<--COM<--"CAT SYSTEM"<--TRANSCEIVER

The DDE link is independant to the Com port. It is an internal way to exchange
data between programs (as TCP/IP for example) inside the PC.

If you have checked "None" that means that you don't need that Multipsk handles
the Com port to switch your XCVR from TX to RX and reverse, this because you
switch the XCVR through Commander (which handles the Com port for the Cat
System). That's a good way to do as you control also the QRG of your XCVR and
the transmission mode (LSB, USB).

I have it working for PTT but I am confused about a couple of factors.

Set Commander for your desired comm port, test the PTT via Commander
("config" then the "general" tab and select TX in the PTT area.)

  That should work fairly easily.

Then boot up Multipsk and go to the config area and select "serial
port" . This is where I get confused. In my settings (using a USB
interface with virtual serial ports, the Microkeyer), there is a
check mark next to "none" in the Multipsk serial port area. It works
just fine, but is set to none. Other people I have helped claim
that "none" does no work for them but it has worked when they select
  another PTT port in Multipsk.
