Thanks for the input on this topic The Digitalradio suggested calling frequency will be 14078.4 (14077.4 and 1000 Hz AF frequency). This is a frequency where the membership can initiate CQ calls and , after exchanging brief information, they can QSY to other clear frequencies. This is for ALL digital modes (data) except SSTV and digital voice.
Suggested guidelines: Listen first for at least 60 seconds, call QRL or "is this frequency in use?" . Maintain control of your station at all times. NO unattended operation. Keep CQ calls to less than 30 seconds regardless of the mode you are using. Please allow at least 60 seconds in between your CQ's so that others can call or respond. If after 5 CQ calls spaced 30 seconds apart you receive no responses, please pause 5 minutes . When a contact is made, please do not use more than 2 minutes to coordinate the QSY frequency. You may want to have a free QSY frequency in mind. After you have used 14078.4 to make a contact, please observe 5 minutes of silence from your station before using 14078.4 to announce your presence again.. Staying on 14078.4 is allowed for quick exchanges (e.g. "Hi Andy , I hear you 5-9 in North Korea") but limit these to less than 1 minute and observe 5 minutes silence before transmitting again. Calling frequencies for other bands will be established after we see how the 20M operations go. If someone is using the suggested calling frequency for a long QSO, please do not tell them it is "our frequency" . You might politely advise them of our suggested guidelines, but they are free to use it for their purpose , if they want.
