Hi, Is it my understanding that ALE is a digital voice software package, including waterfall picture and data transfer?
If it is not this, what Digital HF voice software is there? I am sort of interested in this means of communication. Do like the written form as well, but this seems to only be pre-programmed macros, Hi, Name is ???, Location is ???, 599, Bye. (not that all are like this, but a good 50% from what I have seen so far). I also saw somewhere an digital voice interface, between mic and radio. But what happens if the Data format changes, does this then make the interface worthless? Another piece of gear to sit in a box of goodies? (I have plenty of old gear that have been superseded, or I just don't want to part with) Regards Kevin, ZL1KFM.
