I use a variety of digital software and am setting up a new ocmputer
with an external 24-bit SoundBlaster Live. I read in another forum
that the 24 bit potential won't get me much because most the software
is looking for 11025 sampling rate. But getting it external-out of the
computer-seems to help with the noise.

In the past, the common method for adjusting/correcting the sound card
was to tune WWV and make some adjustment off that signal. Now, MixW
includes a stand-alone sound card adjustment application. That is, it
doesn't adjust the card, it just reports what the adjustment should
be. Given that, I'm guessing the adjustment happens inside the
application - like MixW or MMSSTV.

The subject question is - do you know if this adjustment is stored at
the system level - so if I adjust it or change it in one application,
it is adjusted for all applications after that, right? I figure not or
MixW would have just had their adjuster program do the deed rather
than requiring copying the numbers back into MixW.

Thank you and 73,
Paul
