Congratulations Bruce on the arrival of your new SignaLink USB. I've been using mine since early March and absolutely love the job it is doing for me.
As to your soundcard conflict, I had similar issues but since I'm just using my older P3 500Mhz laptop for hamshack apps, I just shut off every bell, whistle, whatever and set up the SignaLink as the default sound card (W98SE). The SignaLink USB replaced my $300 RigBlaster Pro. I ordered mine the last day of January and got the $89 introductory price. Since they can't keep up with the demand, I'm both surprised and happy that Tigertronics hasn't raised the normal $99 price on this gem. Their additional cable prices are very reasonable too @ $12 for most. I'm using mine on both my IC-746PRO and FT-817.
