I have been successful in getting the linux based fl-digi to work with
the Microham Microkeyer. While the manufacturers of the Microkeyer
have been clear that the device requires Windows, I wanted to try and
get some aspects of fl-digi to work so that I could continue to enjoy
the superiors performance of the Microkeyer. Here is what I have been
able to do.

With FL-Digi booted, I am able to use.the Microkeyer to control both
receive and transmit audio levels of the PC's internal soundcard
(motherboard). With VOX selected on my TS-2000 I am able to use the
TX/RX buttons on fl-digi and thus my rig transmits or switches back to
receive. I can't do other rig control operations via fl-digi, nor
can I use some of the advanced audio routing the Microkeyer is capable
of, but I can achieve my goal of use fl-digi and some other linux
based digital mode applications that I am testing. One test will
involve some ARQ, I am not sure what impact the VOX-related timing
issues will have on ARQ operations , I'll play around some this
weekend and find out.

Thanks to all that gave suggestions, looks like I can run linux and
not really need a different digital mode interface after all.
