PLEASE SUBMIT TODAY Below represents the typical type of work and frequency for this Oracle Systems DBA. perform multiple database software installs/upgrades each year Perform multiple database refreshes per month Perform 5 or more proactive space allocations per quarter Perform 2-3 hot standby builds per quarter Troubleshoot 3-5 failed database processes (backups, stats, log transfers) per week Perform 2-3 database restores using Oracle RMAN per quarter Perform performance tuning/troubleshooting 2-3 times per quarter Create 6 or more new databases per year - this also includes setting up backups, stats and in some cases archive log shipping to hot standbys Assist application teams with SQL tuning 6 or more times per year - this includes using explain plans, SQL trace and tkprof. The results are usually either changes to the SQL or changes/additions to indexes The candidate must have a 'systems' DBA background, as opposed to an 'application' DBA background. They must be a very seasoned Oracle DBA with strong leadership abilities.
