Capacity & Performance Analyst -
An Analyst with a strong performance engineering background and a successful
track record of delivering improved performance for enterprise solutions.
This person will provide technical direction, influence and leadership
regarding performance and scalability issues on the projects within their
portfolio.
The Analyst for this position will be hands-on leader and a team player.
He/she should be able to bring capacity and performance knowledge to the
design, the build and the implementation of custom systems and to the
implementation of commercial off-the-shelf systems (COTS) across a variety
of technical components and modules.
This person will be a technical leader for performance modelers, engineers
and will mentor staff in leading performance best practices. This analyst
will also interact with end-users, business unit leaders, and partners to
ensure improved understanding of capacity and performance engineering
principles.
Requires-:
8-10+ years experience developing and/or leading capacity and performance
initiatives.
Core skills include:
? Capacity planning
? Performance testing
? System modeling and forecasting
? Demand (workload) capture
? Instrumentation techniques of IT components
? Writing and presentation
? Program leadership
Requires-: 3+ years of continuous experience developing and/or leading
performance issues on projects, such as:
? Defining workloads
? Defining and/or documenting service level agreements (SLAs)
? Test case and data development
? Test defect analysis and tracking
? Test metric analysis
o Test performance engineering
Experience with one or more architectural components such as:
o Wintel servers
o IBM midrange servers (AIX)
o EMC and IBM Storage
o Cisco networking gear
o Citrix and Terminal services
o WebSphere
o Oblix
o Tivoli
o DB2, Oracle, Cache, MSSQL
o HP/Mercury test and monitoring tools
o VMware
o Windows OS, Active Directory
? Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
? Bachelor?s degree
? Proven track record of producing developing capacity and/or
performance-focused white papers and theories
? Extensive and current experience working in a large corporation that has
high transactional and high up-time availability requirements.
? Personable and diplomatic team player, with the ability to manage,
motivate and work well in a team environment
