Database Architect
Location(State/city):Rhode Island RI Duration: 6 months Req Details: The Senior Systems Integrator applies technical, project management, and high leadership skills to implement new systems and upgrade existing ones in support of company and IS initiatives. The position plays a strategic role in bringing continuity and standards to the implementation process and delivering quality infrastructure solutions across a variety of platforms and operational environments. Responsibilities: · Manage very large and small scale projects; coordinate across functional groups, resources, tasks and project plans; identify, track and resolve deviations from project plan. · Consult and coordinate among groups, including Network, Data Center, Database, Desktop, Middleware, etc., to integrate and apply new architectures and technologies to the company's technical infrastructure · Provide frontline recommendations for technical solutions for business initiatives, within defined architectures. May need to translate business model and application architectures into an operational/infrastructure schema. · Recommend hardware configurations: evaluate processing requirements and work with appropriate technical leads to configure hardware specifications. · Set and communicate deliverable standards and technical performance measurements for project initiatives. · Manage the integration of new components into the existing architecture. · Design/conduct system integration, performance, and failover/recovery testing. · Work with the application project manager, and Operations teams to manage the delivery the infrastructure required to support applications. · Review or execute deployment strategies and processes. Requirements: · Ideal candidate will have 10+ years of IS/IT experience · Demonstrated experience with multiple components of information technology infrastructure, including multiple operating systems, distributed systems, OLTP and OLAP systems, Web-centric architectures, various hardware components (servers, disk and tape subsystems), network infrastructure components, systems management tools and database management systems · Operational experience with at least two of the following: UNIX, Windows, or z/VM. · Ability to work with little or no supervision and minimal assistance · Strong project management skills, including large scale open systems and distributed implementations. · Experience with one or more methodologies such as RUP, PACE, or STRATUS.
