Assignment Location:Nutley, New Jersey # of Positions: 1 Job Title: Database Engineer - Data Warehousing - 2 Skills: ASP; CSS; HTML; Javascript; Oracle; Visual Basic Descriptions: The CDW Alignment module is a web based application (as opposed to a simple information display website) and hence strong interactive web application development skills are a prerequisite. This means that a good knowledge of HTML, CSS (or DOM - Document Object Model) and JavaScript are absolutely essential. Next, since our web server environment is Microsoft IIs (Internet Information Server), the application will be developed in (classical) ASP (Active Server Pages). Heavy emphasis on ASP.NET. The developer needs good knowledge of VBScript as most of our ASP applications use VBScript for the server side code. Also, the majority of third part code for IIs is in VBScript. Finally, all the CDW data is in an Oracle database, so the developer needs a good understanding of Oracle SQL and any tools for checking/accessing the Oracle database (e.g. SQL developer). For the CDW Alignment application, there is no need for any Oracle Stored procedures. I generally avoid stored procedures - unless speed is absolutely critical - since it allows me to keep all my code and SQL queries in one place. Awaiting your reply.
