Hello, Immediate opening for an experienced AIX Administrator. This is going to be a 1-2 YEAR long consulting position in New York, NY.
This role will be responsible to install, maintain, and configure IBM AIX Operating Systems. Administration tasks will include supporting all AIX operating systems and configurations supporting critical applications. This person will work with various teams, but will need to have the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines. Required Qualifications: - 3 -5 years experience of AIX System Administration - Strong knowledge of shell scripting and Perl - Excellent analytical and problem solving skills - Perform OS upgrades and patch installations - Strong knowledge of Server virtualization, micro partitioning, and Dynamic LPAR - Strong Knowledge of HACMP Architecture, configuration and implementation - Support Backup and Recovery and Performance and Tuning of AIX OS. - Ability to plan and prioritize work and meet project deadlines - Must be self motivated and work well with other groups - Experience with monitoring tools such as BMC Patrol - Strong understanding of EMC Symmetrix SAN environments and Veritas Netbackup.
