*I have just come across this requirement with one of my client. * *Title : System admin / Wintel technology consultant* *Location : Walnut creek, CA* *Duration: 6 months* *5 - 6 years Overall experience must* This Wintel Technology Consultant at client maintains superior 24x7 Wintel server farm operations in various data centers and runs process monitoring and system triage/recovery. The Consultant provides advanced technical consultation on design and engineering solutions and supports system implementations and integrations, systems analysis and diagnosis, troubleshooting, performance analysis and resolution, and provides technical leadership/mentorship to peers. As a Wintel Technology Consultant he will perform Wintel systems builds; maintain and support hardware/software; maintain an understanding of system configurations, tuning and analysis; and run systems and assist in technical systems integrations for various platforms supporting core activities and investment projects. He will also assist the implementation team in testing, certifications, pilots, introductions of advanced technologies, implementations and the delivery of projects according to specifications and timelines; work with tier Command Center , Engineering and vendor support teams for issue escalation; and assess, diagnose and repair issues identified by current incident reporting tools and notification methods. He must maintain and document systems architectures, designs, run processes and incident report statistics; and support operating system backups and recoveries. Minimum requirements for this position include 5+ years of experience in the IT field with Wintel environments; a BS or AS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience); and advanced level knowledge of Wintel environments and all aspects of the primary product, program and technologies. You must also have the ability to function independently with minimal oversight/direction and instruct, guide and mentor lower level technical professionals. *Qualifications include ITIL and formal IT service management experience;* the ability to provide technical support and systems fault analysis/resolution; experience with technical project implementations; and superior interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical staff.
