Our Client currently has an opening for a Investment Analyst located at the
corporate headquarters located in Akron, OH.
Our Client is North America's largest tire company, manufacturing and
marketing tires for most applications. It also manufactures and markets
several lines of power transmission belts, hose and other rubber products
for the transportation industry and various industrial and consumer markets.
Our Client is one of the world's largest operators of commercial truck
service and tire retreading centers. In addition, it operates about 1,800
tire and auto service center outlets. Our Client manufactures its products
in more than 100 facilities in 29 countries, producing more than 200 million
tires annually. It has marketing operations in almost every country around
the world. The Client's 2005 net sales totaled nearly $20 billion.
Department Description:
The Treasury Department includes five main focus areas:
1. Capital Markets
2. Global Financial Strategy, Creditor Relations, Cash Management, Foreign
Exchange
3. Risk Management
4. Global Benefit Financing, Treasury Accounting
5. Investor Relations
This position is a part of the Global Benefit Financing, Treasury Accounting
area, in which we:
• Oversee the investment of over $8 billion of worldwide pension and savings
plan assets to fulfill corporate fiduciary role
• Support portfolio strategy and restructuring actions
• Maintain accounting records for benefit plans
• Account for 40 US benefits plans
• Manage accounting and disclosure for 91 pension and retiree medical plans
worldwide
• Support development of strategies to address legacy costs
• Manage treasury accounting and controls environment
• Manage Treasury SOX compliance
Position Responsibilities:
• Analyze and report employee benefit asset information to the Investment
Committee
• Manager the activities of investment managers through regular due
diligence meetings and phone conversations. Recommend investment managers
that meet the requirements of investment policy, including changes to
existing managers, as needed.
• Invest the assets of the employee benefit plans by coordinating the
activities of the Master Custodian for the pension plans and the Master
Trusts for the savings plans. Target funding amounts scheduled for new
investments in compliance with the approved policy portfolio.
• Regularly review existing investment policies and present recommended
changes to senior management. Monitor compliance of plan investments with
investment guidelines.
• guide investment of assets for foreign subsidiaries' pension plans by
working cross-functionally with the SBU's and the outside actuarial and
consulting firms. Coordinate the investment policy for foreign pension plan
assets by working with appropriate senior management of foreign
subsidiaries.
REQUIRED:
• Bachelors Degree in Business with major in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of (4) years in finance or accounting.
• Minimum of (3) years experience working with institutional investment
principles.
• Minimum of (3) years experience in analyzing institutional investment
portfolios.
• Minimum of (1) year experience in Accounting.
• Minimum of (2) years experience in structuring legal agreements
• Experience working under pressure and adjusting to changing priorities
• Proven (2) years experience successfully leading team projects
PREFERRED:
• CFA designation or in the process of obtaining
