Position: Java Developer

Rate: $6500/month
We are currently seeking a senior JAVA developer with strong Oracle
experience for a client project in Austin, TX. The candidate will be a core
member of the team responsible for the development and deployment of state
of the art solutions. These cutting edge solutions are web-based
applications hosted on 3 tier architecture. The incumbent should be a
motivated, self-starter with a strong desire to be creative and innovative.
The incumbent will work closely with technical leads, system analysts and
clients to understand the requirements then define creative solutions to
meet business need.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
collaborate with client to understand needs, contribute to all phases of the
development life cycle (analyze, supervise design, review code, supervise
test and implementation), assist with the identification and resolution of
issues, become a subject matter expert in the areas supported, provide
thought leadership, supervise and provide guidance to other members of the
team.
Minimum Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years experience
- Strong working knowledge on J2EE based large web applications
- Database and operating systems experience with Solaris/Oracle
- Understanding of public sector domain.
- Knowledge of IBM rational tools a plus.
- Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including web
services.
- Hands-on software troubleshooting experience.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy and security practices and laws.
Minimum Length of Experience:
7 years of Java Programming experience. Expert level
Strong experience in following fields with 5+ years of experience
- Unix
- Websphere studio application developer 5.1/Rational Application
Developer 7
- Websphere Application Server 5.1/6.1
- Java 1.4/1.5
- JSP, Servlets, EJB, tag libraries
- Oracle database.
- Javascript, AJAX
- Maven, Ant script
- Web services
- XML, XSL and stylesheets
Should have experience in Websphere internals, ESB architecture, J2EE
design patterns, UNIX shell scripts
Prior experience in application server or database migration is ideal.
Experience with identification and rectification of performance
bottlenecks of web application is a plus.
Preferences:
Graduate or Master degree preferred
Certifications in Java Programming preferred.
