Job Title: *Research Benchtop Analyst*

Education:  Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or similar, MSCE



Job Duties:

   - This person will be responsible for working directly with the LJ
   Advanced Deskside Services Benchtop Lead.
   - They will support scientists from the LJ Research community to ensure
   informatics solutions and tools meet their business needs.

  Support

   - Responsible for engineering and third level support for scientific and
   desktop applications and a variety of desktop hardware components.
   - Responsible for upgrading or modify desktop and benchtop applications
   as well as participating in projects that affect the desktop and benchtop
   environment.
   - Responsible for helping maintain a stable, standard desktop and
   benchtop environment by following and maintaining a consistent desktop
   certification and documentation process.
   - Resolve problems personally wherever possible or coordinate support
   from other business/technical/training specialists to complete problem
   analysis.

Customer Relationship Management:

   - Develop and maintain deep awareness of benchtop environment.
   - Develop and maintain a sound knowledge of the business processes
   operating in benchtop domains.

 EXPERIENCE:

   - Experience in the bio-tech and/or pharmaceutical industry, namely, in
   the informatics area. Science Background required.
   -  Minimum of 4 years in a desktop engineering and support role; strong
   technical knowledge of desktop hardware and peripherals, Windows NT 4.0,
   2000 and XP operating systems understanding the registry from inside out,
   desktop utility, management and scripting tools; excellent technical and
   process knowledge of desktop image development, testing, deployment and
   updates; strong knowledge of networks and client/server technology; solid
   technology leadership skills.
   - Must possess excellent communication (oral and written) and
   problem-solving skills.
   - Strong interpersonal/organizational skills, the ability to meet
   deadlines, work in a team environment, follow written policies/procedures,
   experience with project management, maintain superior customer service at
   all times with all users.
   - Knowledge and expertise in supporting applications and tools such as
   MDL ISIS Base, Draw, Host, SpotFire, Oracle, Toad, Chem Office is necessary.
