Deskside Support Technician

Location: Providence, RI

Pay Rate: doe

Length: 6 months



Provides technical support by performing installation, repair, and
preventative maintenance of personal computer and related
software/hardware. Trouble shoots software and hardware failures and
identifies network problems when related to personal desktop
computers. Activities include recognition, research, isolation,
resolution, and follow-up steps. Screens, refers, and diagnoses
internal inquiries and work requests as they relate to maintenance of
personal computers utilizing experience and understanding of Perot
Systems' MIS environment. May also provide some phone support.

Typically, the Technician level participates in supportive role by
providing analytical and in person technical support. Assignments are
semi routine but require attention to detail. Normally follows
establish procedures on routine work. Under general supervision,
plans, installs, and tests less complex vendor supplied computer
system hardware or software. Requires 2+ years of related work
experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of system principles, theories, concepts, and technologies
may be required in these positions.
